June Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Hello Friends,

I know.  The July Paper Pumpkin will be arriving in our mailboxes soon and I’m just getting around to my June Paper Pumpkin.  Such is life….  Better late than never though, right?

Today I sat down and made four alternatives using the contents of my “Box Of Sunshine” PP.  I love, love, love the hot colors used in this pretty yellow box.  I had so much fun with this kit!

Card #1

I used a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend to randomly draw some sun rays around the metallic gold sun on the card base.

I then used the Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend to blend the red a bit and pull some color out around the sun, and then the Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend to blend those colors and pull the color out to the edge of the card front.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the die-cut sun up.

I stamped “smile” in Basic Black ink (included in kit) off to the side at an angle; stamped the horizontal lines centered on the bottom in Poppy Parade.

Added the pre-cut black polka-dot strip from the kit, stamped the sentiment on the pre-cut label, and adhered to the center of the black strip.

Card #2

This one is not too far off from the “intended card” (pictured on the flyer with included directions), but I liked the look of the black panel behind the pineapple with a smaller sentiment.  I cut one of the banner labels in half, stamped “hello” and tucked the end behind the pineapple.  Added a few of the included sequins and done!

I decided to pull out a few other supplies from my stash for the last two cards.

Card #3

For this card, I used the tree die from Sweet Silhouettes Dies (coordinates with Silhouette Scenes stamp set).  My grandparents lived in Southern California when I was growing up, and they had a lemon tree in their front yard that produced abundantly.  It was always so full of the largest lemons I’ve ever seen in my life, many literally the size of grapefruit!  And sooo good!  My grandma would cut a lemon into wedges and my brother, sister and I would sit and suck on those wedges until there was nothing left to suck on!   Our teeth were a little chalky feeling after doing so, but it was worth it…they were sooo good!  And yes, I still like sour things!  Anyway, that was the inspiration for this card -lemons on the tree!

Card #4

I love how this card turned out!  I used the Happy Dies (coordinates with “So Much Happy” stamp set) to cut the “HAPPY” into the edge of the cardbase.  I used a piece of Night of Navy DSP from Neutrals DSP along the inside card edge, under the “HAPPY”, and then used another piece under the pineapple.  The sentiment “to celebrate you” is also from the So Much Happy stamp set.  We have a lot of summertime birthdays and I can’t wait to pass this card on.  I’m very pleased with how it turned out.  What do you think?

I love how fast and easy it is to make really attractive cards with the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits.   If you’re not familiar with them, I would encourage you to explore them further.  They always come with all the supplies and directions you need to make cards right out of the box – ink, paper, embellishments, stamp sets that are exclusive to Paper Pumpkin, and of course, coordinating envelopes to send your creations in!  You can subscribe month-to-month for $22/month (includes shipping) and cancel anytime; or prepaid plans for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.

You can only receive July’s Paper Pumpkin if you subscribe by July 10!  Click on the picture below to subscribe.  This kit is all about fireworks, fireflies, and ferris wheels from what I hear.  That’s part of the joy of Paper Pumpkin… it’s a surprise every month!  July PP contains enough supplies to create 9 postcards and coordinating envelopes, as well as 9 die-cut tealight bags.  If you wish for more traditional cards, there is an add-on that can be purchased separately for $10 that contains 24 preprinted card bases (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) and coordinating envelopes.

In demonstrator product testing, they’re telling us there are enough supplies in the kit and with the add-on to make at least 20 additional cards!   I’ve ordered mine, have you?

Click below to subscribe and get in on the July kit!

If you wish to get in on the add-on for this kit, go to my online store.   The product # for the add on is:  154973.

This video will share a bit more!
