Love The Curves – Quite Curvy Bundle That Is!

Hello Friends!

I’m back today with another Quite Curvy card.  I do love the curves!  Did you know that YOU can now order this fantastic bundle?  As a demonstrator, I was able to pick this up before it went “public” and I’ve been experimenting with it for a little while now.  AND NOW YOU CAN ORDER THIS SUPER-DUPER SET, TOO!

I’ll admit that when I first saw this bundle of products, I was not overly excited about them.  I waited several days before I went ahead and ordered it.  But, Oh My!  I’m so glad that I did!  The Quite Curvy stamp set is extremely versatile with sentiments for birthday, thinking of you, love you, and even a simple hello.  And birds…they’re adorable!  Who doesn’t like birds, right?

As far as Curvy Christmas, what an easy way to make beautiful Christmas cards!  I combined the curves with poinsettias on my last post, but I’ll be bringing you MORE ideas using this exclusive stamp set, and the exclusive “Classic Christmas DSP” in the next few days!

However, today I needed a birthday card for the first man I ever loved… my dad!  His birthday is coming up in the next few days and I have to say, at age 84 (almost), he’s still looking good and could likely out walk, out work, and out think me!  I am blessed indeed to have a mom and dad as devoted to God and family as they are.

Another big announcement!   Starting today I get to attend the Stampin’ Up OnStage event which is held every year for demonstrators only.  It’s an event that spans three days and is held in multiple locations across the country.  Ours (for the western region) is generally in Portland, OR.  I attended last year for the first time and oh-my-goodness, such fun!  Unfortunately, this year because of “the virus”, it’s being held virtually and I’m “attending” with my sister and other team members from home.  Thanks to you all…I’m being recognized for achieving my sales goals this year!  So, a huge thank you to all of you who’ve placed orders with me over the past year!  I thoroughly enjoy being your Stampin’ Up demonstrator and look forward to continuing to serve you in this manner, hopefully giving you some creative inspiration along the way!

As part of the OnStage event, I get an early look at the new January-June, 2021 Mini Catalog (spring catalog) and even get to place an early order from it!  I’ll be giving little sneak peeks of new products as I’m allowed per Stampin’ Up guidelines over the next several weeks!  May I say (sing), “I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it, I’m about to lose control and I think I like it!”

Okay, so that’s the Pointer Sisters and I’m aging myself here!  (Yes, I was an ’80’s teen!)  Stampin’ Up hires special music for these events and this year’s musical artist is ….. Pat Benatar!  So, hit me with your best shot, fire away!!!  Again, (heavy sigh) the concerts will be virtual, so not nearly as fun as in person, but I’m sooo looking forward to new ideas, networking with other demonstrators to learn how I can better serve you, my loyal customers and blog subscribers, during our OnStage event!  Fingers crossed that next year we’ll be back to “normal” and able to meet up in person!

I’m telling you, these OnStage events are super fun and very inspirational!  If you’d like to join me at OnStage next year for a girls’ weekend of fun, inspiration and stampin’, all you have to do is join my team!  It’s easy to do and pressure-free!  I’d love, love, love to welcome you aboard!  Just let me know if you’re interested and I’d be happy to reach out to you with “the details”!

But, back to my birthday card…(and envelope!)  Note the dressed-up envelope to match the card.  The envelope dies in the August-December Mini Catalog (Christmas catalog), make it so easy to cut DSP liners for your envelopes (many different sizes) so that they match your card, as well as other little detailed dies to “pretty up” the envelope flap!  Of course, the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set coordinates with the dies and can help you make the envelope as stunning as your card within!  (Love that!)

PUTTING IT TOGETHER!

  • Fold your Very Vanilla cardbase in half and set aside.
  • Front image panel:
    • Run the 5 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ Very Vanilla image panel through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the dotted Curvy Die about 2″ down from top horizontal edge.
    • This gives you 2 pieces, one dotted, the other not.
    • Run the not-dotted piece through again with the die at the edge of the just-cut piece, which will trim off a narrow dotted strip.
    • Stamp the curved birthday sentiment from “Quite Curvy” in black ink just below the curved paper edge, matching the curves.
    • Place all three die-cut pieces in the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and run through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
    • Use the 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ panel as a pattern, and lay the two larger die-cut panels , upside down, aligning the edges at top and bottom as well as sides. (I forgot to take pictures while I was making, so re-created using different DSP in the pictures – sorry.)
    • Place a narrow line of glue to long edges of 1 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ DSP on the right side (side you want to show through the ‘window’), and position over the gap between Very Vanilla pieces.
    • Flip that panel over and wa-la!  Your panel should now be a total size of 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
    • Use a dotted glue runner to apply adhesive to the narrow die-cut dotted strip and adhere just below the top (undotted) curvy edge.
    • Stamp the leaf vine image on Very Vanilla CS, color with Stampin’ Blends in the colors outlined above, and crop out with associated die in Curvy Dies.
    • Stamp 2 birds on Very Vanilla CS and color with Stampin’ Blends; crop with associated die in Curvy Dies.
    • Adhere the colored leaves image to the top die-cut panel, following the curves.
    • Adhere the bird in the lower left corner, under sentiment.
    • Adhere the completed image panel onto the front of the card base.
  • Card inside:
    • Stamp the sentiment from “Happiest of Birthdays” on the inside in black ink.
    • Adhere the 1/2″ strip of DSP along the bottom edge of the card.
  • Envelope:
    • Use the Envelopes Dies to crop the 2 3/4″ x 5″ piece of DSP, for envelope liner.
    • Stamp the leaf-vine image from Quite Curvy in black ink across the bottom left corner of the envelope.
    • Place a scrap piece of cardstock inside the envelope to catch the “bleed” and color with Stampin’ Blends in the same manner you colored them for the card front.
    • Adhere the second bird die-cut to leaf vine.
    • Place DSP liner inside card for placement and use a pencil to lightly mark where the crease line will be on the envelope.
    • Use the scoring blade on paper trimmer to score crease line.
    • Adhere the liner inside the envelope, matching the crease lines.
    • Quite Curvy - Love Those Curves
