Hello Stampin’ Friends!
Today I put together a birthday card for the first very special man in my life…my Dad! His birthday is coming right up and like fine wine, he just keeps getting better with age! At 87-years-young, he’s a true classic, indeed!
This is a picture of my dad and I taken in August. (Yes, I’m at that age where I have to put my glasses on to take a selfie!) I guess you could say I’ve always been a Daddy’s girl and I’m so very blessed to have such a good Daddy!
My Daddy & I
Card Inspiration
I was looking over a list of card challenges this week and came upon Creative Colour Challenges (#CCC113) where the required colors are Poppy Parade, Night of Navy, and Smoky Slate. As a very patriotic Navy veteran, those colors were perfect for a card for my dad.
I was browsing the Global Design Project challenge (#GDP418) also and decided I would tailor my card to their challenge sketch, also.
Thus, Dad’s birthday card was born!
Keeping the card in “classic” form, I didn’t venture too far from the #GDP418 sketch, but wanted to personalize it so added the “DAD” letters and “love this guy” tag. Just FYI, I used my Cricut to cut the letters to spell “DAD”.
Masculine Cards Don’t Have To Be Hard
If you struggle with masculine cards, as so many of us cardmakers do, I recommend you check out the He’s All That stamp and die sets. They’ve been my masculine-card “go-to” since they originally came out. Like my dad, they’re a classic as well!
The products I used to create this card are listed below, and at the bottom of this post are the links to my store if you’d like to order any of them.
And, as always,
I hope you get inky today!
