How To Stamp An Extra Large Image PLUS NEW PAPER SHARE

Hello Friends!

I have so much news today that I don’t know where to start!  I’m going to start with pictures from a recent card-making frenzy, but I have some special announcements further down that you don’t want to miss!  Specifically, a NEW paper share of all the new Designer Series Papers in the Holiday Mini Catalog that hopefully you’ve all received by now!  If you haven’t gotten your catalog and would like one, please let me know and I’ll be sure to get one to you PRONTO!

Also, I’m going to have a few in-person classes coming up next month.  They will be small in size due to social distancing requirements, but I miss getting together with friends so decided to GO FOR IT!

Please scroll down for the full scoop on both of these announcements!

But right now, let’s get down to some inky business!

I’ve been working on thank you cards recently, as I have so much to be thankful for!

I don’t know about you, but thank you cards and birthday cards make up the bulk of my card needs and boy oh boy, do I need a lot of them this month!  In an effort to streamline those efforts, I elected to choose a single layout and repeat in different color combinations.  Here’s a few of them:

I particularly love the background stamp, Drybrush.

I made a video demonstrating the easiest and most effective way to ink up and stamp a very large image, such as a background stamp.  However, I’m having a terrible time getting it to upload (country life=slow internet), so decided to just go with pictures for now.

Lay your extra large stamp face up.

Ink it up.

Carefully lay your cardstock panel on top, being careful not to move it around.

Lay a piece of scrap paper over the top and gently “massage” (rub) the entire panel, being careful not to scoot the cardstock underneath around.

Carefully remove the scrap paper and lift the cardstock panel straight up and off the stamp.

The result is a perfectly stamped image with no uneven pressure marks!

And one more helpful hint for the day…

I’d like to point out the ease of use of the “Simply Shammy” found on page 163 of the ’20-’21 Annual Catalog.  I’d never used one until a Stampin’ Up On-Stage event for demonstrators about a year ago.  At that event, we got to play with some new products and they had the shammies there for our use as well.  Can I just say… Love at first use???  I’ve always (for 30+ years) used a wet washcloth or baby wipes to clean my stamps, but this…. THIS was so handy, doesn’t require washing, and can be used, and used, and used, and used, and used….. you get the picture!  It fits perfectly in the standard stamp cases (can be purchased also on page 163 of the ’20-’21 AC) and stays damp, ready for use always!  If you don’t keep it in a case, it does dry out and gets quite stiff, but that’s not a problem either.  Simply re-wet and go!

I ordered one as soon as I got home from that convention and have been using it for greater than a year now.

It’s covered in ink and looks ugly, but that ink is locked in there and doesn’t transfer.  I wondered if it would mildew and get smelly in the case over time, but it has NOT!  It continues to smell “normal” (basically odorless), traps the ink and just keeps on working!

So, if you’re tired of washing inky washcloths, buying baby wipes, etc. you might keep these handy little shammies in mind!

Before we get to specifics regarding today’s cards, I have some announcements!

I am doing another Paper Share from the new Holiday Mini Catalog (August – December 2020 Mini Catalog), in order to let you see and feel these beautiful papers so you can decide which you can’t do without, and would like to order from my online store!

I am currently taking pre-orders and expect the first wave of paper share orders to be mailed out the first week of August.  If you want in on this deal, click on the “Contact Me” button at the top of this page and let me know that you ARE IN! I’ll need your name, address, email address you use for Paypal, and phone number.  I’ll send you a Paypal invoice and once you’ve paid, I will send out that box full of beautiful paper the first week of August!  Remember, she who hesitates…. waits!

There are 12 sets of Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog and they are GORGEOUS!  Plus 6 Specialty Papers!

As noted above, I’m scheduling some very small in-person classes, limiting the number of attendees to 3 per class due to COVID and social distancing guidelines.  If you’d like to participate in these small classes, please let me know ASAP so I can plan accordingly.   The cost of these classes will be $10/person, or free with a $40 order (before shipping) placed same day.

I’m working on getting faster internet and hope to be able to do some online classes soon.

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, living in the country limits the availability of fast internet.  I tried for 48 hours to get a 21-minute video to upload and never made it past 50%….grrrrr!!!!  I’ve reached out and will have satellite internet installed on Saturday.  They tell me it still won’t be blazing fast, but should be faster than what we have currently!   So, fingers crossed!

Class schedule is as follows & we will complete 4 different cards during the 2-hour timeslots:

August 8 (Saturday) 10:00am – 12:00pm

August 12 (Wednesday) 6:00pm – 8:00pm

August 22 (Saturday) 10:00am – 12:00pm

August 26 (Wednesday) 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Just another reminder that Stampin’ Up Bonus Days are in progress!  Between now and August 3, for every $50 you spend (before shipping & taxes), you will receive a $5 coupon to be used between August 4-31!   That means that as soon as the new Holiday Mini Catalog goes live on August 4, you have free money to spend on all the beautiful products between the covers of that new catalog!

OKAY!

Let’s get INKY with today’s project!  I had this all on video as noted above, but grrrrr… slow internet wouldn’t let it upload!  I’m crossing my fingers for better luck after our satellite internet is installed on Saturday!!!

Adhere stamped panel to card base.

Stamp the daisies – 2 large and 1 small and punch out with coordinating daisy punches from cardstock scraps.

Adhere the two large daisies together with petals alternating and then top with smaller daisy.

Adhere gem, or small heart to center of flower.

Adhere the 1 1/2″ strip of DSP to left card front, and adhere flower on that.

Cut 1/2″ strip of Bumblebee cardstock, stamp sentiment on, and using snips, cut banner in end.

Adhere sentiment strip butted up against the DSP.

Using the second Whisper White panel, randomly stamp the smaller daisy in same color ink as card base, all over the panel.

Apply 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ strip DSP to left side of panel.

Stamp the inside sentiment in either Night of Navy or Black ink.
