Hello Friends!
Today’s card inspiration came to me when I was getting dressed for a graduation party yesterday. I generally don’t wear much in terms of lipstick, a little gloss and I’m good to go. However, the shirt I was wearing was brightly colored and as I was putting my make-up on, I thought perhaps some lipstick would be in order. Well, let’s just say it was a little brighter than I’d remembered! I did the good ol’ toilet paper blot, but nope, it was there to stay. It was then that the sentiment from “Dressed To Impress” came to mind. “Be As Bold As Your Lipstick” With that thought in mind, I boldly went forth!!!
When we got home from the party, that stamp set came out and today’s card was born! I chose to keep it clean and simple, letting the color and sentiments make the statement!
LET’S GET INKY!
Cardstock colors and measurements:
- Whisper White
- 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded for card base.
- 5″ x 3 3/4″ – Mat 1 with sentiment
- 3″ x 3″ – image panel
- 5 x 3 3/4″ – for inside card
- Blackberry Bliss
- 5 1/4″ x 4″ – Mat 1
- 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ – Side strip mat
- 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ – image panel mat
- 5 1/4″ x 4″ – inside card mat
- Brights DSP in Melon Mambo
- 5″ x 1″
- 5″ x 1/2″ for inside
Directions:
- On the 3″ square Whisper White panel, stamp the lipstick from “Dressed To Impress” 3 times at a diagonal, using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I centered the first one corner to corner, and then stamped one on each side equal distance apart from that one.
- Using the scribble stamp from Dressed To Impress, stamp at the end of the lipstick tubes in Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, and Calypso Coral.
- Color the tubes of lipstick. I used Stampin’ Write markers in the same corresponding colors for the lipstick: Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral. I used the combo pack, Dark and Light Smoky Slate to color the tubes, and then used the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter across the top long-side edge of each tube to create a highlight.
- Adhere the 3″ image panel to the 3 1/8″ Blackberry Bliss mat.
- Adhere the Melon Mambo DSP to the Blackberry Bliss mat.
- Lay the card out without gluing anything down yet, and decide on placement of the sentiment in the bottom right corner of the white mat 1. I used the Stamparatus to ensure it’s placement and stamped “hello Fabulous” in Blackberry Bliss ink.
- Using the small blot stamp, I used Melon Mambo ink to the right and slightly overlapping the sentiment to tie it all together.
- Now adhere all the layers as shown.
- For the inside of the card, I stamped the “Be as bold as your lipstick” in Blackberry Bliss centered on the white panel, adhered to the Blackberry Bliss mat, finished it off with the strip of Melon Mambo DSP, and adhered that stack to the inside card base.
DONE! Clean and Simple!!!
Now put on some bright lipstick and go face the world BOLDLY! 🙂
Until next time,
Janet
